A.      Eight visions to encourage rebuilding the temple.

1.        Three Horses. Bloodshed, conquest and death are at rest but God’s displeasure with the nations will be known. (7-18)

ATTITUDE

III.    4th year of Darius, 4th day, 9th month. Questions On Fasting.

A.      Proper Attitude.  (1-7)  It must be to God and not for self.

B.       A Change of Life.  (8-14)  Must result in righteousness.

BLESSINGS

C.       Blessings to Come. (1-17)  Peace and prosperity for Zion.

D.      Fasts To Become Feasts.  (18-23)  God will be with his people.

SECTION II.

I.        Zion’s coming king. 

  1. Tyre and surrounding nations to be conquered by Greece (2-4), which will in turn also be conquered. (11-17)

[MESSIAH] King comes riding on an ass (Zech. 9:9-10 with Matt. 21:4-5; Jn. 12:15)

  1. God’s neglected sheep will be gathered again.

SHEPHERDS
  1. Woe to worthless Shepherds! (1-11, 15-17)

  1. The Day of Jerusalem’s Siege. (1-9, 11-14)
