2.        Judgment upon the priests, the house of Israel and the king (1-7)

3.        Sound the alarm! Both Israel and Judah to be punished. (8-15)

B.       Rebellion of Samaria and Ephraim

1.        Samaria hot as an oven with sin (1-7)

2.        Ephraim (8-16)  8 Half-baked.  11 Silly dove.  16 Deceitful bow.

JUDGMENT

C.       Judgment upon Samaria and Ephraim

1.        Samaria shall reap a whirlwind from Assyria (1-7)

2.        Ephraim will be devoured by fire (8-14)

BONDAGE

D.      They will return to bondage

1.        Ephraim to eat unclean food in Egypt and Assyria. (1-9)

2.        Ephraim’s glory to fly away and they will wander among the nations. (10-17)

VINE

E.       A luxuriant vine

1.        Israel is a Luxuriant vine who’s heart is divided. (1-3)

2.        Samaria and Ephraim to be carried to Assyria. (4-8)

3.        Ephraim like a rebellious heifer to have a yoke put on her neck (9-11)

4.        Break up the fallow ground. God’s judgment is coming (12-15)

11:

FATHER

F.       Father’s love for a rebellious child

1.        Jehovah anguishes at giving them up to Assyria and Egypt.
